Nail & Fungal Max Panel

What is it?
The Nail & Fungal Max Panel is a high-sensitivity multiplex PCR assay specifically developed for the detection and differentiation of fungal pathogens associated with onychomycosis (nail fungal infections) and other dermatophytoses. This advanced diagnostic tool is designed to identify fungal DNA from a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, yeasts, and non-dermatophyte molds, offering precise detection even in samples with low fungal loads or mixed infections. By eliminating the time constraints of traditional fungal cultures, the Nail & Fungal Max Panel facilitates rapid and accurate identification, aiding in the timely initiation of targeted antifungal therapy.

Target and Specimen Type

• Target Pathogens: Detects a wide range of fungal pathogens, including dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes), yeasts (Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis), and non-dermatophyte molds (Aspergillus spp., Fusarium spp.). The panel is optimized for detecting common and rare fungal species implicated in nail infections and related conditions.
• Specimen Types: Validated for nail clippings, nail bed scrapings, and skin scrapings. The panel is designed for efficient processing of keratinized and complex specimens, ensuring robust DNA recovery and high diagnostic accuracy.
