ABr Light

What is it?
The ABr Light is a streamlined, multiplex real-time PCR assay designed to detect and identify the presence of key antibiotic resistance genes in clinical specimens. This assay provides rapid and precise detection of resistance determinants such as bla (β-lactamase genes), mecA (methicillin resistance genes), and vanA/B (vancomycin resistance genes), enabling clinicians to implement targeted antimicrobial therapies. The assay is optimized for high sensitivity and specificity, delivering results within a rapid timeframe to support critical decision-making in the management of antibiotic-resistant infections.

Target and Specimen Type

• Target Genes: Focuses on clinically significant resistance markers, including β-lactamase-producing genes (blaCTX-M, blaSHV, blaOXA), methicillin resistance genes (mecA, mecC), vancomycin resistance genes (vanA, vanB), and other critical genes associated with multidrug-resistant organisms (e.g., NDM-1 and KPC).
